Lactalis Canada’s Laverlochère Québec Plant Celebrates 100th Anniversary

October 3, 2024 – Laverlochère, QC –Lactalis Canada, the Canadian dairy leader behind iconic brands like Cracker Barrel, Black Diamond, Balderson, Astro and Lactantia and a subsidiary of France-based Lactalis Group, marks the 100th anniversary of its Laverlochère, Quebec plant. This milestone anniversary highlights a century of rich history and the important role the site plays in the Laverlochère community and the Canadian dairy industry.  Celebrations included a special event on October 2 for employees, with remarks from Lactalis Canada President & CEO Mark Taylor and other company executives, government and community partners.

About Lactalis Canada’s Laverlochère Facility

Established in the early 1920s and located at 9, rue Lafrenière S, Lactalis Canada’s Laverlochère site is a key production facility for skimmed and whole milk powder, buttermilk and yogourt powder – dairy ingredients used by many of the country’s top further processors in countless food products enjoyed by Canadians every day. The plant also produces Lactantia butter – Canada’s number #1 butter brand. Lactalis Canada looks forward to continuing to play a vital role in the region through its economic and social contribution.
